digmodes
A beautiful surprise during the JT6M Perseids Challenge 2008 organized by the team of JT6M.ORG on 6m ! I've made a long distance meteor scatter QSO with PeO SM0EPO at the distance of 2424,18Km...! A new record for me. Follow the text of the PeO's mail after the qso with the text received:

===================================
Hi Sal.
Info from our MS QSO.

First your CQ
200700 11.9 2.4 -7 34 M68 CQ226 IW/FRA JM68 CQ226 VW
200700 22.2 3.4 -5 34 N26 IW9FRA/JM68 CQ226 IW9FRA JM68 CQ226 IW9F
200700 25.6 2.4 -6 34 R8 JM68 CQ226 IW9FRA JM6Z CQ22

I started to call you but nothing happend for a long time.
SM7CMV, Ken said he heard you on ES. After a while I said you shold work him. Then this happend.

204400 7.3 3.4 -5 -17 M2KRAN26 8 J$MSEPO7F/93#AYV0V/XT8E0 PHC,J1J#Q./.

Report for me. (I noticed now when going thru the textfile)
But in the same period you changed to.

204400 20.0 3.4 -2 -17 FY3YIY IN RMM$JVZI 91RAM59 SM7CMV IW9FRA YME
204400 23.4 3.4 -1 -17 /SM76V?QOV9FRA 59 SM7CMV IW9F3A 09 .UOMMNVP4
204400 26.7 3.0 0 -17 8F$9URA 59 # SM7CMV IW9FRA 59 SM7CMDL3
204400 -13 -17 IW9FRA 59 SM7CMV * 20

And in the next period this

204500 7.2 2.6 -5 -17 2 /AX04FAF RRRRRRRR P/IJLYFTEM$RZN?F

Then we desided to go on with our QSO
And after 18 more minutes a small burst with just about the needed information.

210300 14.6 3.0 -8 -38 R26 FKSM0EPO ZZ70RA ,3VQLOCA6K77SU7OW8AU1B

And I started to send

210430 Transmitting: JT6M RRRR EPO JO89

That was what I found in the All.txt file.
Tnx once again for the QSO Sal

All the best to you and yours!

IQ9TP/P a new beacon on 6m !
Posted by: iw9fra on Sunday, June 29, 2008 - 11:50 AM

I would submit to your attention a new beacon on 6m. The beacon, built from the Sezione ARI di Trapani (many thanks to Vito IT9GDS and to Mimmo IW9GTD), is a PIC based CW keyer connected to an Icom IC-726 with the power of 2W and a dipole antenna in N-S direction. The locator is JM68GA. the frequency is 50.007 and of course the call is IQ9TP/B. The beacon transmits a 9 seconds tone for tuning and then the string IQ9TP/B JM68GA. QSL to IQ9TP via buro.
After only few ours from start we have received this spot in the cluster:

50007.0 IQ9TP/B 29-Jun-2008 1558Z 579 <CT1HZE>
50006.8 IQ9TP 29-Jun-2008 1707Z bcn JM68ga 529 (TR) JM49oh <IS0GQX>

Great start for this beacon with a first QRB of 1885 Km, TNX to CT1HZE and IS0GQX.

For any info send an email to iw9fra@iw9fra.com, please spot this beacon if you listen it...
