The IW9FRA's Echolink System consist in a Server located at my QRL connected to an Icom U16 handeld transceiver that transmit over the frequency of 431.000 MHz with the subtone 77.0 and a Log Periodic VHF-UHF antenna.
In Erice, a mountain 640 meters high above sea level dominating the city of Trapani, we hold a tower with a Diamond X50 antenna on top and a fantastic Standard C520 handheld transceiver in trasponder mode.
The C520's output is 5 watts and works perfectly in coesistence with a 1000 watts FM broadcast transmitter. The trasponder allow the downlink to the frequency 144.650 MHz with the subtone 88.5 and covers a wide range between Trapani, Egadi Islands, Marsala and the most of the Province of Trapani.
